Technogym seem to be on a roll lately. The introduction of the SKILLMILL and the SKILLROW have been game changers and were executed with perfect timing for a fitness industry going mad over HIIT’ing!
Now Technogym has released TEAMBEATS delivering gyms an overarching solution to display and track participants fitness performance. TEAMBEATS is backed by Technogym’s mywellness ecosystem, making it easy to design classes via the UNITY SELF Kiosk and easy for participants to join a class via the mywellness app.
Mark from Technogym took me through the whole system, including the setup of a class, including music options and adding participants. I then got to see how it actually works with Technogym’s Master Trainer – Todd delivering a class using the Omnia functional training rig and surrounding marked flooring. Now you will get to see everything I did in the video above!
I only wish I had this kind of capability 10 years ago! Don’t get me wrong, heart rate tracking has been around for decades in different forms, but this brings it to a whole new level of meaningfulness!
Technogym’s official press release is below including still shots from my demo video above!
May 2017 – Technogym, the world leading company in fitness and wellness equipment, presents TEAMBEATS, the new solution to manage and track the user’s heart rate in all individual workouts, classes and circuits – completing the mywellness suite of business apps for operators.
TEAMBEATS combines variety, efficiency and fun in a single workout that is unlike any other group fitness experience. Members can improve fitness and maximise performance by working out to the beat of music tracks. This new technology helps to turn a group of individuals into a team that are motivated to reach a shared goal and allows trainers to provide instant feedback.
Trainers can easily set up heart rate-driven classes and circuits and manage time, music and performance metrics such as heart rate percentage, calories and MOVEs from the UNITY SELFkiosk. Participants will also be able to view their performance via digital screens whilst training.
What are MOVEs?
MOVEs are the unit of measurement defined by Technogym’s Scientific Department that allows you to understand how active you are every day. Unlike calories, MOVEs are not related to weight, making them the best way to compare your activity levels. After every workout on Technogym equipment (or if you use the Technogym app to track your outdoor activity) all of your MOVEs are uploaded to your profile for you to view.
